Body Waxing 


Waxing is the process of hair removal, we use hard and soft wax to effectively remove the hair from the root. At SoulFlower Lashes & Spa we use only the best products that are specifically formulated with all skin types in mind. We use demi-creamy based hard wax that is formulated for all skin types and all areas use, having the perfect balance between creamy and translucent.

The skin is prepped with a cleanser, oil to protect the skin from the wax, after the waxing process is complete we use Aloe gel that soothes, and calms. Followed with almond oil to remove wax residue.

The hair must be a minimum of 1/4 inch to ensure proper removal of hair. Trimming is not recommended.

Kinds of wax

Hard Wax:

Hard wax is thicker than soft wax, and hardens on your skin. Once it hardens, its removed with your technicians (Gloved)hand.

There is no need for waxing strips. This process is a lot less painful.

Best suited for use on your: Bikini line, underarms, and face.

Soft Wax:

Soft wax is a little thiner than hard wax. It’s spread across the area and then is pulled off using a cloth strip.

Soft wax can grab small and soft hairs.

ContraIndications to Waxing

  • If you are taking anti-biotics or acne medication.

  • Use of skin peeling, skin thinning preparations.

  • Varicose Veins.

  • Underarms: Mastitis.

  • Skin disorders or diseases, such as bruising or recent haemorrhage, Scar tissue (especially recent).

  • Warts, Moles and skin tabs (area can be avoided).

  • Fractures or Sprains.

  • Bruising.

  • Diabetes - some people with diabetes have skin that is very slow to heal. The skin will be watched closely to make sure it does not over react to treatments.

  • Sensitivity test may be conducted.

  • Sunburn.

  • Use of sunbeds 24 hours prior to waxing.

  • If you are receiving cancer therapy (chemotherapy or radiation).

Anything (including a symptom or medical condition) that is a reason for a person to not receive a particular treatment or procedure because it may be harmful.

Prewax Care

1.) Is you hair long enough?

Prior to waxing, the length of your hair should be at least a quarter inch long.

(As long as a grain of rice.)

(2.) Plan ahead!

Avoid scheduling your (Brazilian Wax) around the time of your period. Our skin tend to be more sensitive. We also recommend avoiding alcohol & Smoking before your appointment. It will make your blood thinner and you more sensitive to the pain.

(3.) Make sure you are clean.

Yes, it's a kindness to your waxer that you arrive fresh and cleansed (and not right from the gym), but it will also help your wax go more smoothly.

Natural oils, sweat, or body lotions can prohibit wax from adhering as well. Come in tidy, like brushing your teeth before going to the dentist.

how often you should wax

You may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on the same growth cycle to give the best results.

You will need at least 3-4 weeks growth of hair (at least a quarter inch long) for it can be successfully removed by waxing;

Please do not shave between your appointments.

To maintain your smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks.

Wax after-care

Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 - 48 hours.

This means:

  • No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).

  • No saunas, hot tubs, massage or steam treatments.

  • No tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans).

  • No sport, gym work or other exercise. (Including Sex.)

  • Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.

  • Wear clean, loose fitting clothes.

  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.

  • Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or other products to the area, other than those recommended by your therapist.

To soothe and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product.

To prevent ingrown hairs: starting 24-48 hours after your wax appointment and then continuing on (1-2) times every week, exfoliate the waxed area, using a dry brush or exfoliating mitt.

We recommend Before you step into the bath or shower gently brush the waxed area of your skin with a dry brush or sugar scrub.
